As I mentioned at the start of this project, the base has been designed in two parts so you can position the dark‑haired figure to your liking. I placed wooden sticks in the openings for the tubes to locate them better.

In the short videos below, you can see how the figures are set into the bases. The easiest way is to position both tubes over the inserts and slide them in carefully at the same time.

Once in place, both figures sit securely in the base. There is a slight tolerance in the fit, which makes inserting and removing them easier. All tubes have been waxed, but if they do not slide in smoothly over time, a thin layer of wax (tea light wax works well) can be reapplied.

For safety, it is best not to move or carry the piece while the figures are mounted on the base.

During transport, the hair will likely be somewhat compressed. This will usually fluff up again naturally with humidity in the air. Please do not comb any of the figures, as the glued hair could loosen. The dark‑haired figure’s hair can be gently refreshed with a light water mist, while the blonde figure’s hair can be re‑arranged best by hand.
